New member, lurking for the past 6-7 months. Just did a purchase order today on a 2009 Ultra, supposed to pick it up next week. Sunglow Red, with security and ABS. Been riding for 33 years, just came off of a 2006 BMW GSA, and prior to that a 2004 BMW R1150RT. Bought a new 1990 FXRS with an EVO motor and had it until 1996, and thought it was time to try the latest in the MOCO's offerings. Love all types of motorcycles, wish I had the money and garage space for a real collection!
My 9-year old daughter likes to ride with me, hence the Ultra, my wife has neck/spine issues, so only short rides with her. I supervise a traffic collision investigation/reconstruction unit for a "major state-wide law enforcement agency" (not too hard to figure out, hand me the chips...), so I am very interested in motorcycle safety/collision topics, and the proper investigation/prosecution of the miscreants who maim and kill far too many of us. I've noticed that the anti-LEO bias can get a bit heavy on this site at times, so hopefully can add some constructive info on those topics.
Already have learned a lot while lurking, primarily that the purchase price of the scoot looks like just a good start! Hope to have a Fuelmoto set-up soon, and maybe some V&H Monster Ovals, some chrome, stereo upgrades...
welcome to the board, bet your job is really interesting!
both of my sons are LEO's, it would behoove some people to walk in their shoes for a little while! Real life ain't only like the TV shows, show.
