Hello, my name is Chad and I am 18 and from southern Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Friends all laughed at me when I got my bike, but I love classic iron, whether it be cars or bikes, they have the look and sound that I love! I've had a few old cars at this point (had some nice paying jobs) but I'm moving more into bikes now.
I just traded my 1980 Camaro for a 1982 Sportster. It's an XLH1000 with rebuilt motor and trans (numbers match) and with one or two pieces of aftermarket chrome. This thing is very stock, minus the motor and trans rebuild. Rode it around and the clutch need some adjustment, but the bike starts, runs, and stops very nicely. I just put my pile of wrenches and factory manual out next to the bike in anticipation of the inevitable!
I forgot to mention that the motor rebuild included Andrews cams, XR1000 valves, KB 0.100 over pistons, etc. It pulls pretty well (understatement). Oh, and that paint is original.
Greetings from Alaska....Your friends may laugh but I bet their old ladies are thinking something different...Hmmmm tank tops, daisy dukes and leather...Tell me I'm wrong...Have fun Bro
Now that's good lookin "Old Iron". Congrats!! Welcome from central Washington. Great site and even better people. Use the search function and snoop around a bit before asking questions . Just a little brotherly advice. Glad you're here . Geezer
