I've been lurking for a while and finally signed up.
I am planning on taking the MSF course in August and I want to buy a bike in November or December. I have my heart set on a Harley, either an 883 or a Superglide. I've been reading contrary opinions on both of those for a first bike for a woman (I'm 5'7). I will have a 45 minute commute to work and would love to get to the point of using my bike for that. I also have a back problem, so I need something that I can make comfortable to ride.
My dad doesn't have a bike anymore, but I am hoping he will help me get started and work with me in parking lots and deserted roads until I can handle my bike safely. I am also really hoping to meet people in my area since I will be moving and won't know anyone. I am in SW now, but will be moving to the fringes of Northern VA.
I've already learned a lot by browsing around on here, so wanted to introduce myself finally.

Good luck with your search. I have a bad back too. I have a Mustang Vintage solo for longer rides and it's very comfortable. Get a Super Glide with this seat added and you'll be set for years. Congrats and welcome from central Washington. Glad to have you. Geez
