Gday new member.
Name is DJ Watson, 21yo from Queensland Australia.
Work as an industrial spray painter, and my hobbies are cars, bikes and beer!
I have owned a 05 model FXST for about two years now.
Just stumbled upon this forum, i hope to be doing a fair bit of work to the old girl once i get one of my other projects (bloody cars) out of the way, and look froward to annoying you blokes with lots of dumb questions.
I have been playing with mechanics since i was 14, have rebuilt several engines etc etc bla bla bla so i have a fairly firm grasp on mechanics, but basic engine questions like what combinations work well together on a TC88B are the kind of thing i will need to know.
I am planning on doing a reasonably custom multiple hue candie paint job on the tins at some stage, looking at fabricating a fair few custom parts and im well practiced at polishing aluminium, so should be good once i get stuck into her probably next winter (just coming on summer here now).
Hopefully i will find something i can help you guys with at some stage.
Cheers.

Re the paint, is say reasonably custom becauset its based on a HD theme.
From the 2003 parts catalogue you could order a set of tins painted in a theme called "bomber". This not only suits me to the ground im rather fond of it.
It was a white pearl over off white base with orange or red scallops on it, im sure some of you will know what im on about.
Im planning on basically copying that but spraying where the white is in a silver base, doing teh colour part in a gunmetal base with black highlights and black pinstriping around the scollops, then coating the lot in an orange candie, not sure how it will look and its a little while off yet but should be a bit different.
Other plans besides cam, head, etc would be me making my own version of a Whimmer super sucker, which i will fab myself but have a bell mouth on the end with a filter sock over it, i have found a 17" back wheel locally that i will aquire soon, polish pretty much all the alloy i can get at and see where i end up.
Working on a semi tight semi loose budget, same thing with my cars i would prefer to spend $$$ on go rather than show, after all most of the show i can provide myself without flicking through a parts catalogue.
I'll start updating and asking dumb questions shortly

Cheers.
