Default New Harley Owner

Greetings everyone, Brand new HD owner and new to the HD Forum. I purchased a brand new 06 Road King Classic just before Daytona Bike Week. In fact it hit the 1000 mile mark on the way back home crossing Florida. I got rid of my 05 Honda VTX1300R luckly to the first guy who came to check it out. I'm really enjoying the new bike and get out on it every chance I get. Right now waiting for the Love Bugs to disappear! But living here in FL. I can wait the week or two since we get to ride all year long.

Paul

Default RE: New Harley Owner

I had always had an idea that I would like to own a Harley one day, and the two weeks I spent attending (and passing I might add), a National Police Motorcycle Operators Course, made that desire even stronger. I decided I wanted a bike again (I hadn't owned one in about 10 years), but was torn between a HD and a Goldwing. Although I tried to justify to myself that my money would be better spent on a Goldwing, I knew inside that it would only be a short amount of time, before I started regretting the purchase.

I one day will have an Ultra Classic, but right now, that is out of my price range. I found a sweet deal on a 93 Electra Glide Sport, and given it's likeness to a Road King, I knew I had to have it. I have already been welcomed by numerous co-workers that ride Harleys, and was even helped out with helmets, rain suits and a bike cover...all free gratis. The guys told me that they were helped out after their first Harley purchase, and that they were paying it forward. One day, I will have to do the same for a fellow Harley rider.

Here it is: It's not an 06 Ultra with all the bells and whistles, but it's mine!!
