Recently located an FXDP at a fair price so when I started looking around for information and how-to's I bumped into this forum. New to HD but rode dirt and metrics prior. Both of my brothers have Harleys and both happen to have Ducati's so after hounding me for years to ride with them I picked up the Harley this month.
The attached photo is my old man on his motor. He rode those home when I was a little kid and I wanted a black and white HD ever since. Second photo is my FXDP purchased long distance, sight unseen except for photos. "Bike-in-a-Box" from the east coast to Tacoma.
So far it's been fun adding a couple things. I picked up a set of original bags and an engine guard, a light bar from National City, a laydown plate, Rush 1.75 slip on's and some light visors. It reminds me a little of an older bike so i may try to keep it looking a little retro.
Thanks for the info and very good reading material. I'll update the photos after I finish installing the last couple purchases.
