I took up riding fairly late in life (50). I took the basic riding skills course and got hooked right away. I wanted a HD from the outset but as a new rider I was intimidated by the size and power of the HD's (the price was a little intimidating also). I needed more riding experience and I wanted to make sure I would stick with riding for the long term before dishing out the bigger bucks for the HD. I initially bought a metric 750cc and a year later a 1300cc and continued to love riding. The wife got into it riding as a passenger and loves riding as much as I do. Now, after four years on the metrics, and logging 16,000 miles, I just purchased a new '09 RK Classic. What a bike, and what a ride! I look forward to learning more about HDs and their owners on this forum.
