Just wanted to jump in here with both feet and post up. Name is Brad...Newby, yes that is my REAL last name. I have come here in the search of knowledge as I have just been given a '79 80" Electra Glide from the family of a very good neighbor and friend that we just lost. This is my 1st Harley, but I have been riding for better than 30 years. I'm not real familiar with the H/D's but have been reading a lot and I know I will have many questions.
I'll try not to be stupid with what I ask and will hopefully be able to search the forums and get my answers without asking too many repeated questions that have been answered 1000 times. Hope to be able to help out on occasion also. I help moderate a Venture forum, so I know how to play nice, we'll be chatting with you folks down the road I'm sure.
Welcome. Wow - you been riding 30 years and just got a Harley - given to you... Not a big fan I take it. Good luck!
No, Nothing like that, I just haven't had the monies to get a H/D. I'm all about being in the wind, There are H/D's I really like, just didn't have the funds to get one. This one is very special to me as it was a gift from a very close friend that was killed in an auto accident. I was actually getting it running so I could sell it for his widow and daughter, to help with the finances. They decided that I could give it the best home and ride it like it should be.
Thanks for the responces, looking forward to being here
