New Member Hello
I was just reading a post asking new members to please introduce themselves before asking qustions. I feel bad because I had not read that before I submitted my first thread which was very helpfull. Just know that I meant no disrespect.
I dont really know what to tell you all about myself. I have been riding street bikes for about 6 years. My brother was a mechanic at the local Yamaha dealer and kind of pushed me away from Harley. So I started on a Yamaha Vstar 1100 and upgraded to a Suzuki Boulevard 1500 a few years later. By that time I had been trying to get my fiance (now wife) to ride more with me. She loved riding but after very short distances she was just misserable on those smaller passenger seats. I made the decision that I would start looking for a touring bike that we could take some trips on. While a buddy and I were at Bike Week two years ago we swapped bikes for a while. He had an 02 Heritage Softail classic. I knew rite then that my next bike would be a Harley.
In November of 2008 I took the plunge and bought my 04 Ultra Classic at Coziahr Harley Davidson in Decatur IL. I fell in love with riding more than I had with the other bikes and then I fell into that Old Harley tradition of spending money. I installed alot of cosmetic things to make the bike my own. After riding two up with my wife I realized it was a little underpowered and thats when I found this great site. The good news is that my wife loves riding with me now. So much so that she has expressed interest in her own bike. We've been looking at Sportsters to start her off. She has never riden anything bigger than a schwinn so I want to start her out small. Plus she will just be riding around home for the longer trips we'll take my bike. I find it ironic how much my views of Harley have changed in 6 short years. Going from my brothers point of view and swearing off Harley to soon possibly having a Garage with two.
Not much else to tell you other than all I can do is pace the floor waiting for this cold winter to go so we can hit the saddle again. I Look forward to seeing you all in the forums.
