New guy from Orange County NY

Hey everyone, Happy to be part of HDF. My name is Rob. I'm from Goshen NY. I recently bought my first Harley after years of dreaming. I picked up a 76 ironhead xlch. Love the bike but I have a few concerns. Eventually I would like to break down the whole bike and rebuild it from scratch but for now I just want to enjoy this season with the bike as is. I never worked on Harleys or any bike for that matter but I know I will need to learn esspecially with a 76. So, the first thing I did was order the repair manual. The second was joining this forum where I know I will find alot of knowledge and experienced riders and builders. My first concern is, smoke coming from the front cylinder where the exhaust pipe is connected. The previous owner put the S&S carb system in, I dont know if this info is needed. Like I said I'm new to all this

is it smoking out the pipe also, or just at the connection.. so it could be oil leaking on the exhaust, or worse, an actual exhaust leak which should be fixed asap.
