Default New member needs help.

Hey all. Just joined forum. Florida boy on third Harley. 99RK-02RK-07chopper (i dont have all these still just the progression) Now on a 06' Streetglide 88' 5 speed. 17" apes and V&H exhaust. Tryin to remove front forks without removing fairing. Close, but need to move the bottom toggle switch panel to get to fork oil caps. I'm sure many know how to do this. I got the ignition switch removed, but the plastic (ignition label: lock/ ignition/ accesory) panel won't fit over ignition shaft. any tips?? Thanks. Weather is great for riding!

Must be new to forums... at the top of this page it says this is the New Member Into section, for introducing Ur-self.. theres not as many members who come into this area as others section and those who do are of all kinds of bikes..

Each type of bike has a special area in here as its a very large forum.. and the best one for harleys on the net....not bragging, just a fact. over125,000 members.. also all kind of tech area and info areas...

If U go to the home page U can see what HDF has to offer...

For Ur SG, look up the touring section, its where Ur question would have gotten more answers. the touring section all ways has 2-3 hundred members reading it...or one of many tech areas

Heres the link to the Home Page so U can see it all...
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/index.php

hope U get the problem worked out.. I own a softail and know little bout SG's

Ride safe and have a great spring.
Welcome aboard HDF, From Indiana.

THANKS Alot! J/K. It's all good. That's how my luck is. By the time I figure it out, I've done it the hard way, and will never need to do it again. So I usually have advice on not how to do things. Good thing I like to tinker. My goal is to remove the forks, and I got to them really easy with removal of the bottom panel and removing the chrome cover below head light. Trying to remove the caps. I got the fork un-screwed from cap but think the cap assembly maybe pressed in. I figure it out.

Taking the time to remove the batwing also makes it so you can check connectors, clean interior and prevent scratches or damage. I just got my bike but I took it off just to clean and inspect interior.

Good luck on your project.
