New old guy?

I have been looking at the forum for a while and decided it's time to register. I have been riding for 40 some years. Started on a mini trail 70 and worked my way up. I have owned a dozen Harleys, but have kind of settled on my '93 Softail and I have a '77 Shovel rigid on the work bench that is moving real slow. I work on my own but I like to ride'em more than work on 'em. I have been thru 26 different states and 4 Canadian Provences. I have had fewer opportunities to travel since the kids have arrived, but now that they are older, I plan to get back on the road as much as possible. Had a trip all planned for this weekend but the weather is supposed to get real bad with sever thunderstorms and tornado activity. I wouldn't have done that even in my younger and stupider days? I ride to work when I can and will choose 2 wheels over 4 any time it's possible. I don't need super horse power or speed, but I like to have a reliable ride ready at all times. My Softail is stock 80" but I have added a cam and exhaust, massaged the CV carb, changed bars and the seat, and other parts and pieces to make this one mine. I just want to ride and stay out of the way of the 4 wheeled combatants out there. It just seems that there are way too many of them these days. I don't ask for any **** from anybody and I rarely give any... I have mellowed lots in the last 5 years and like I said, I just want to ride. That's all... Scudder
