Hello all, I'm new to H-D Forums so I thought I'd say hi!
I am a soon to be rider- I am just trying to get a little more money in the bank before I put it down.
But I have a bit of a bi-polar nature when it comes to bikes. I like them all, don't get me wrong! It's between the old school look of the Fourty-eight ( I imagine one with a matte olive tank and wrapped straight pipes) and the clean sport look of the XR1200X. I know! Could you think of two more extreme bikes!?!?!?
Neither fit me all that great stock. The 48 is a bit of a stretch in the arms and I'm on my tiptoes on the XR1200 (5'6" 160# girl) but i still cannot make up my mind!!!! lets take a vote......
if your liking the looks of a specific bike but it isnt quite fittign wether its arm length or height, the beauty of harleys is they are infinatly customizable to suit any rider.
for arm length things like pull back risers tilted mini apes, even having your seat re-worked to move you forward an inch or 3 will help there. if its height then theres lots of options for lowering the bike as well as lowering seat height. if your finding your legs are to far forward then look int omid controls or even rear sets. while most stealerships might not want to spend the time to sit with you t o discuss the many options available now a days most indy's * independent custom/repair shops* will gladly take a few minutes out of there day to help you and theres always us we may be crazy but we're real friendly here
