Just checking in to introduce myself and maybe get a question answered. Obviously I'm new to the site, but I've been riding a 2004 Lowrider since it was new. Now I'm looking to upgrade to a 2011 Road Glide and already have the financing in order, just waiting on the bike I want to get in. The question I had is what is the best way to track down a particular bike? Originally the dealer told me they had a Sedona Orange RG (color I want) coming in the first shipment, but now their story has changed. I even put down a deposit on this mystery bike, but now they're saying that they're hard to get and won't have one until September. Any suggestions how I can get one sooner vice calling every dealer in the Tri-State area?
If you have the time & patience - definitely research w/other HD dealerships to see if they have the bike/color you want sooner.
Also, when you signed the deal & made deposit, were there any "written" details on this bike's delivery & color??? If so, tell the dealer to come through & find the bike per contract...good luck!
Looks like waiting is the preferred choice. It's hard because I don't want to take the Lowrider out & rack up miles since I'll be trading it, so it's a month of the riding season wasted.
Our dealer found the NT the son wanted somewhere else last yr. don't know what dealer did but they got it shipped to them..
So might ask if that's possible.
I wouldn't let a month ridding time go by regardless which bike I had. we don't have much here anyway.
Welcome to the Forum and safe riding.

When I was looking for my XB I called all of the dealers around Houston....
Told them what I was doing, what I wanted, was it in stock and asked them to quote me a price...
I know several of them told me that they would deliver to me at no extra $$
I ended up buying from the dealer nearest to me...but had them match a deal another had offered...

Thanks for the advice guys. First time I had to deal with this issue, last bike was already in stock so I didn't have to wait. I called all HD dealers in Western Pennsylvania and found another dealer that's going to get the bike I want. And I got it at MSRP with no freight or setup fees. I think the bike was in NY, but I'm happy that I'll have my new bike sooner vice later.
