Red face Hi all just got my first H-D and im lost!

Last week i picked up a 1991 FXSTC and a service manual aka bible and i am having some problems with her like oil leaks here and there not bad ones like from the top of the right hand back head of my engine and on my oil tank under my cap and it is just very little is this normal??? and in Colorado where i live there are 4 bike mechanics i know if i go in asking they will rip me off for and have been warned that they do this and there shady. I have been glued to this site reading and you all have saved me from Deamon on ebay and hooked me up with great detailing products but im lost to what kind of brake pads to buy what are good grips is Amsoil as good as they say you stuff like that so thank you all for letting me join you all best wishes Jay from Canon City Colorado

Thank you mikymoto but i am not in to the dealer ship thing i just need some good old trial and error on what to buy because a bike cant be a different world from a Corvette and i don't go to Chevy to buy performance parts aka better then stock and i will get to looking more at the form man there is so much great stuff on here lol

welcome, the reason to get a parts catalog from the dealer is that if you do start working on your bike that is where you can look up needed parts, even if you get them somewhere else that is where you find them with part numbers.

some dealers are bad news some are not, you might find out locally if any of the dealers are know for straight shooting.

be safe and ENJOY your bike!
