Won't Idle Unless Completely Warmed Up

I just bought this bike and it won't idle unless its completely warmed up. The previous owner says it's done this since he got it. It's annoying waiting 10-15 minutes on an idle.... Any thoughts? '91 heritage Soft

welcome to the jungle, I mean forum. I don't know what would cause that problem, but I will follow the thread and hopefully you will get an answer. They are a really knowledgeable bunch here.

Won't Idle Unless Completely Warmed Up

Is it a FI model? If it's carburated, you have an enrichener that you need to operate (choke) and if the plastic friction nut is broken, as is usual with this setup, it won't hold the cable in place long enough to warm up...
