Just a quick shout to everyone! While I dont have a HD yet,we`re looking to put a deposit on a Standard Softtail.Just gotta find a dealer that we`re comfortable with.Been to a couple;they said that you cant order for the spring;gotta buy whats on the floor.Dont believe that.Any comments on that? We`re new to the HD`s,so any help would be appreciated.Best price we have recieved:$16,200;thats a black standard, injected, tax, freight, everything.Have one more dealership to try, then we`ll make our decision.Any other things to look for?Extended warrantys? Thanks.
Something sounds fishy with that dealer. I had no problem when I ordered an '05 Night Train, at my local dealer. I will be getting it in March... they should be able to order you a new one. Sounds like they just want to get rid of the stock they have.
Not order special? That's a crock. As far as price goes, where are you located? That makes a small difference and find out what's being added on at the dealership. They'll tell you they're giving it to you at MSRP with some added extras and then charge you out the *** for them. Good luck on your shopping. Oh..and welcome to the bb.
This is how it went:I called one dealer;they told me $16,200,out the door. That was with the security system, injected, black, tax, freight.I asked about spring delivery,he told me he only knew 2 months in advance of the bikes he was getting.
Dealer 2:$16,810,plus tax and reg.No spring deliveries.
Dealer 3:$15,945,plus tax and reg.,and $400 for FI.Said no problem for spring delivery, and they give you a $500 gift card to use at their dealership.Would like to deal with no.3.They have an awesome service dept.,and the place makes you feel at home.Gonna go up to Mass.this weekend and get a price from one more dealer. They sell at msrp,so we will see.Maybe if I go to dealer no 3,with the deposit, they`ll match the first price I recieved.BTW,I`m in CT.I`ll keep you posted.THanks,Mark
Its a shame a person has to go through all the hoops like that,A fellow I knew had to go out of state but I figured that was just around here,Happens all over.I've said before Harleys are the ultimate,Just hope they dont loose track of the customers somewheres.
Welcome and keep in touch.![sm=pimp.gif]
If your in Connecticut,do yourself a big favor and head up to Woodstock Harley Davidson and ask for Joe in sales.Great dealer, huge selection, can't beat the prices.
The plan is to go up to E.Hampton Harley in Mass on Sat.We have 2 customers that have bought bikes up there, and have said nothing but good things about them. They also sell at MSRP.The dealership seems pretty cool,as they only require a $500,FULLY REFUNDABLE deposit.Cant beat that in my book.I`ll keep everyone posted.I just wanna get this thing ordered so I can relax.
I never heard of no spring deliveries. You would think they want to sell bikes under any circumstances in the slow time in winter. Sounds like that on dealer is the way too go.
You will enjoy that standerd. I love a softail look.

I've noticed that a few of you guys have mentioned "selling at MSRP". Does that mean that some dealers sell over that? I remember a time when there were waiting lists for new Harleys... did the dealers gouge and then just keep with the inflated prices? I'm curious, because up here the dealers (2 in Ottawa) sell at MSRP, and I thought that was just SOP. I'm more used to car dealers that sell at 20% or more UNDER MSRP...
Yeah, since Harleys are in such a demand whether you're ordering or buying from the showroom a lot of dealerships are charging OVER MSRP. It's all BS but when everyone buys anyway why should they lower their prices? Or they do what the dealerships around here do...put $300 worth of chrome on the bike and charge you $3000.
