As I read your story I thought a bagger was in your future ... but I see you went sporty. Good transition bike.
My first trip to Florida I drove from Mi to Fla straight through back in 1979. My first stop was the beaches of St. Augustine. I woke up in a hotel parking lot and suddenly I was in a tropical paradise. I remember jumping out of my new Chevette and taking that first splash in the salty coast. The shocked look on my face was from all the salt. I came from fresh water Michigan and never even thought about it until I came up for air and was a bit freaked.
During that trip I found a home that was turned into a restaurant / bar back in a residential area. Best burger I ever had, and a night to remember.
I made certain to stop in St. Augustine a few more times as part of follow up trips. Really was a nice place to visit.
