Well I dont plan to take it apart until its out of warranty then I might try my hand at it, I have taken engines apart put them back together and they still ran so hopefully I can do it.

Ha funny you mention gold wing my dad had one of those to (inbetween the harleys) I rode it once and compared to the Harley it rode rough!

The goldwing was a good bike though! No problems ever.

So any advice on the extended warranty and how much I can guesstimate on negotiating if bought new?
Goldwings are good bikes. But they don't have any soul. Oh, you may want to skip the drivel Cameraboy has to say. He ****'s on just about every thread with his constant negative waves .... lol

Default Bikers are bikers

I rode Shadows for years because I chose to spend the money on my family. Wanted to ride so I did it on a Honda and Yamaha. Took a lot more guts than riding what I have now. I now have a Harley and the one thing I know is I will wave if you have a HD or whatever. I used to smile when I'd get the pull back on the wave when they realized that was a Radiator down there.

I almost didn't buy a Harley because they have become the bike of all the wannabe's. You can't buy yourself into the cool club. But a lot of people sure try.

For me, it's about being out there with the wind in your face and the denim flapping. I looked good and hard when I got to where I could really choose. Harley's have something others don't. But owning one won't make you a cooler or better person.

Harley's became a culture by not caring what others thought. Dude, Buy what you like and can afford and then ride it proudly! That's what this culture started as and should be!

Welcome to the forum, youngbloood. One answer on the hate, "Ignorance". I can say that because I used to be just that. I've only been on a Harley for about 4 years. Before that I didn't think I'd ever want one. My sole reason was my only experience with a Harley before that was driving an old mid 80's Sportster 883 to and from a showroom at a dealership I sold boats at. (over 20 years ago, now) That dam thing nearly rattled my teeth out of my head! 4 years ago, my neighbor bought a '01 Dyna Wide Glide, had second thoughts, and asked if I wanted to buy it. I promptly gave him my opinion on those old rattle traps, and he just handed me the key and told me to take it around the block. I did, and I couldn't believe how wrong I was about the brand. I'm sure they've improved on the 883, too, but I love the Dyna, and am looking into a Street Glide as a second bike. There are used bikes out there for decent prices. I wouldn't necessarily be looking at dealerships. Look for low miles and don't pay extra for other peoples' custom work. You'll want to make your bike "your own" in your own good time. Just my opinion, the quality has improved vastly over the years.

Yeah I dont buy a bike to be in a group, or try to be cool.

I like to ride a comfortable bike, and ride it for days.

By far I am not better then anyone, I help people everyday. People who think they're better then others, well whatever.

My dad has a Harley and loves it, I rode it and liked it but after reading some comments wanted to ask harley riders make sure.

I dont like rushing in and buying things without knowing a little about it.
