rebuild project

Hey guys this is my first post on the forum. I bought a '90 model FLT to use in a Midwest frame I got when I was 18. I tore into the engines top end and and found a broken ring, carbon coated valves (so bad I don't know how I got er home HA!), scored pistons and the whole thing was covered in oil. It had 75,000 when I bought it for a dirt cheap price. Beggars can't be choosers as they say. I'm wondering if anybody can tell me what to look for besides what I've found so far. Also will this rubber mount crankcase fit in a hardtail frame? Thanks a lot!

Replace the cam bearing while you're at it, to a Torrington bearing. You might want to consider upgrading the cam and throwing in a new set of lifters too. And yes, that motor will mount to a hard tail frame. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks guys, I've heard lots of good stuff about this place. Appreciate it Mike, I seriously need to get this thing rolling. I'm doing all the work in my living room because I don't have a shop or a garage and I think my girls gonna kill me if I don't give her back the space! HAHA! I just found out that I've got Jim's lifters in it and they seem pretty new as far as I can tell. Now do I need to take my crankcase in to a machine shop to get the cam bearing replaced or is that something I can do myself?
