Question about ordering a Harley...
The dealership where a friend of mine works (he's in sales) has told me that HD has a cutoff of May1 for all orders for current-year bikes, and that if the order isn't in before then, there's a very slim chance that I could see if before next year.
He also told me the Rocker-C is no longer in production and I couldn't get one. I couldn't believe it and called HD and they told me that it's being made and that the information I was given is wrong. Mind you, this is my friend telling me this, who is a sales person, but is also new to selling HD's, and I'll give him some leeway in that maybe it was someone there telling him to tell me, in an effort to steer me to something they already have...
Nice, eh?
So...
Is there any factual basis to the whole May1 cutoff? This dealership also wants 10% down on a bike that gets ordered. The combination of May 1, and 10% down on a Rocker-C...well, that's more than I can come up with in that small of a timeframe. Oh yeah, this dealership won't haggle...at least, my "friend" won't haggle.
So...that almost pushes me out the door to go after the leftover '10 and see if I can strike a good deal there, or let them handle the whole order process...
I just want to find out if there's any truth to what I've been told first.
