Default HELP!!!!! Huge Question....

I have owned 3 Harley's now, just bought my dream bike...(keep in mind only 5 days old) a 2011 Streetglide 103 Vivid Black. Now to the more pressing issue, it had been detailed and cleaned @ the dealership prior to me picking up. However, 2 days ago got caught in a downpour and wanted to clean it. Went to my local HD Dealership, was sold what I thought was Harley Gloss! Unfortunately, it was Wheel and Tire cleaner!!!!

After applying to the front batwing farring, front fender, part of rear fender, chrome and 1 saddlebag I realized I was applying said Wheel and Tire cleaner. It had dried, was using cups of water to clean, as hose was busted. Jumped on the bike, in 20 minutes was at said same dealership, washed the entire bike 3 times with their detailing soup dried and applied some Harley Gloss Cleaner....

My question (and I got caught in the rain this morning) what damage if any has been done? I have seen NO bubbling, scratches or otherwise on the bike. Everyone cringed at the thought, but they said it should be fine.

Thanks.

Look on the wheel cleaner. If it says that it is for use on wheels that have had a clear coat, then you are OK. Most wheels, even if they look like chrome, have a clear coat of paint to keep them from rusting. This clear coat is the same as on your fairing.

Welcome from Virginia.....sorry have not a clue, only mechanical, seldom clean it, Doubt it hurt it and if you can not see it I am sure it did'nt. They are not going to sell a cleaner that you spray on and around paint that would hurt it. I just use windex after a good rain on it.

Default Thanks to everyone....

Guys, thanks for all the responses...I will have to check the bottle for whether it was/is for clear coat wheels? But I went out there today, nothing just the normal paint.

Appreciate everyone putting my mind at ease...now back to riding.

Welcome from Virginia! Take the bike out on the freeway just to check to see if the paint has enough strength to hang on at road speed!
