I haven't owned a Harley since 1964 I've been riding Europien and Jap bikes ever since. At this time I have two Maico's, one Husky, one Kawasaki and one Honda. Now I'm interested in a Nightster and I'm wondering why there's so many used ones for sale with very low mileage? The bike looks great and the pegs are in a position closer to what I like. I'd still like to have them further back. I'm 64 yers old and want to ride a little slower than I have to on my Honda CBR 600. The CBR doesn't get comfortable untill your traveling over 60 mph to get the weight off your wrist. Anyway with my short legs the nightster will be alot easier for me. My other choise is a Bonneville T100 but the seat height is 31".
Back to my question why are there so many used Nightster with very low mileage for sale?
I beleive the Nightster(Sportster) is the entry level Harley. It may scare or intmidate a new rider. Some people like the biker lifestyle and find themselves terrified of operating a 2 wheeled vehicle with little or no protection. So instead of throwing away $25,000, they try the experience for under $10,000. Some people may also find the XLs too small and restaining. They don't give much for trade ins either. But as you will learn a real Harley is a Big Twin. But there will always be one in my garage and my heart.
