hi from nyc. newbie needs help
hello to all.
i am a total newbie from nyc who wants to join the fellowship of the hog.
by newbie i mean i cannot even drive a car. getting my bike license soon and planning on traveling with it cross country to LA.
Someone recommended the roadking for touring
Roadking is a bit too expensive for me right now so I am trying to decide between
The Yamaha Virago and the Harley-Davidson Sportster XL 1200s Custom
I'm looking to spend no more than 1500 and get something that will last me at least 3 years of driving around LA
I'm a big dude 240 6'4 so I'd like something that would accomodate me without intense lower back pain.
I'd apprteciate any help, pointers, advice on which model to buy and where to buy it from, so that I won't get robbed.

i do know that at your size a sportster is definately too small. don't know too much about a virago but would rather see you on a harley! good luck.

Welcome and Whew!! That's a big order you have there. Wanting a bike for under $1500 that can go cross country and fit a 6'4 guy. Did you mean $15K?
