Hello, my name is Travis. I live in Lancaster, CA. I haven't purchased my Harley yet but Im in looking mode as I type this. I have been doing my homework for the past couple of months and I think Im about ready to pull the trigger.
Motorcycle experience: I am 33 years old and have been riding since I was 16, well legally. I have been a knee dragger during most of my riding experience and have raced some sanctioned events. Too expensive for a young airman in the military. I am a former MSF instructor and mostly taught Military members while I was active duty Air Force.
The last bikes I owned was stolen with my toy hauler: Two Yamaha R1's, R6, and tools. Never recovered any of it.
Why Im here?
I am getting ready to purchase my first Harley. I am just having the hardest time picking one. I have rented two different Fat Boys to try. I rode a 2005 Springer Softail last week. I hope you guys and gals can steer me in the right direction. I want something that when you twist the throttle you feel it in the seat. One of the Fat Boys was a little sluggish in this area. Im not concerned with top speed but I love alot of torque.
I am also buying pre-owned. I just don't see the extra costs with buying new and plus there are alot of nice customized bikes out there with decent prices.
Hobbies
I am a very experienced and competitive pool player. Been playing since I could hold a cue. I attend alot of local tournaments and seek good friendly action.
I love to shoot guns also. California really sucks on the gun laws.
Well I believe thats a pretty good into. Looking foward to buying my first HD.
