Default Belated Introduction

Hello all,

I just realized I never did a proper introduction after joing this forum a few months ago.

Last July, I purchased an 04 FXDXI or Dyna Super Glide Sport. It was my first bike at the ripe age of 33. A buddy of mine, HD4ME on this forum, said he was thinking about getting a Corvette or a motorcycle. Suddenly, I got the itch to get a motorcycle. Why it took so long, I don't know. I told him that if he got a motorcycle that I would get one, too. He bought a Sportster and I did some research and decided on the FXDXI due to it's big twin engine and excellent handling characteristics for a Harley or any bike for that matter. Plus, I liked the blacked-out look. He's recently upgraded to a 15th Anniversary Fat Boy and traded in his Sportster and I still have my Dyna Super Glide Sport and enjoy every mile I put on it. I'm sad to see this model be discontinued starting with the 2006 models, however.

It's amazing how much money you can spend on these bikes, even when you're not adding a lot of chrome pieces. I've added, in no particular order, a 95" stage II big bore kit with the 204 cam instead of the standard 203, V&H big radius pipes with thunder monster baffles, Power Commander III USB, professionally dyno-tuned at 92.78 HP and 99.51 TQ, Kuryakyn hand grips and Kuryakyn extended forward controls with dually pegs and stirrups, Sundowner deep bucket seat, quick release detachable sissy bar with luggage rack, quick release detachable windshield and a few more cosmetic items such as a skull timer and skull derby cover.

I had the "classic" V&H 2-1 pipe after I paid my Harley taxes(Stage I) but switched to the Big Radius with thunder monster baffles for better sound even though I thought I'd lose a little performance. Oddly enough, I gained performance after having it dyno tuned and am very happy. I think it had a little to do with the thunder monster baffles and/or that the dyno tuner was very good. I originally had the regular Kuryakyn forward controls but switched to the extendeds for a little more room, I'm 6'3" and it made a huge difference for me. Wish I would've bought the extendeds first. [sm=headbang.gif] Oh well, needless to say I have a V&H classic 2-1 pipe and Kuryakyn forward controls to put on Ebay when I get around to it.

Anyways, this is an awesome site and I've read many informative and humorous posts these last few months and I hope to read many more. I will try to post some pics in the near future. Take care all and ride safe. [sm=hiya.gif]

I just remembered that I have 2 pics of my bike taken by my friend's wife a few months ago. These pics were taken before I installed the Big Radius and extended forward controls with stirrups. I'll get some more updated pics soon.

Welcome to the forum Mike from NY. It sounds like you've been busy working and upgrading that bike with some impressive numbers to boot.

Is that Propipe discolored??

Just kidding. The Big Radius looks better anyway. I can email you the pics of your ride with the Big Radius when I get home. I still am too stupid to figure out how to post any.

I wonder where I would be now if I purchased the Vette???

WELCOME!!!
