Hey from MI. I'm an older rider who has owned over 125 bikes and until last week had never owned a Harley. I have been looking at Road Glides and Ultras and a kid at work had a 2002 mostly stock low mile (7K) plain jane Super Glide for sale. I looked at it and decided to buy it so I could play with it and ride it a bit and see if the Harley thing worked for me. It does.
Of the many bikes I've owned, few screamed "MOTORCYCLE" and those didn't stay for long. A few of my old BMW airheads had it. A early 70's Yamaha XS650 actually had it. A Honda CB400F and CB750F had it. But none of them had it like this Super Glide.
Someone took care of it and it came to me with SE air cleaner, slip ons and carb set up that works pretty good. I changed all the fluids and adjusted the steering head bearings and it seems to ride like a new bike. It seems happier without the nice HD quick detach shield. It just loves quick blasts up to 60 and then just cruising down the road 50-55 MPH. I just need a LITTLE taller seat and maybe a LITTLE quieter pipes.
Welcome from South Carolina, and I fill you. l also am new to the HD club and love it. I have owned 27 motorcycles and only one Harley, by far I have the right motorcycle now.
