I think I was a member here about a 100 years ago?? CRS. Anyway, I have 1 bike that I've owned since I bought it new. A very early 84 Softail. Very early serial number. It's still got the original paint. I've stripped it down physically as clean as I could get it. So now it's lite and maneuverable. But it ain't pretty by any means. I live two miles off the closest paved road, no way to keep it nice and shiny. Here it is vegetating in my barn>>

This picture makes it look clean. It's been rode hard over the years and rebuilt twice internally. I, at one time, decided to wash it in the yard and one thing lead to another and two hours later I had it disassembled and in the basement so I cut and hand polished the sliders, inner and outer primaries, controls, master cylinders, and everything else made out of aluminum and took the frame to a local company that does powdercoating an got it coated, then put it back together. But Dumbass me never clearcoated all that fine polishing work and it didn't take long for it to look like this. ^^^

It's very old school and that's the way I like it. I'm going to go back to a points system because the electronic one I have sucks (Crane Hi4) It's got the required belt primary though which I've ripped in half numerous times doing burn outs. That's embarrassing. It's quickest time at the track (which BTW I can convert this to hard tail in one minute for racing) was 11.872, not real fast but good enough to be a challenge for some.
Soo, I'm an old gray beard, been riding about 40 years starting with small foreign bikes and moving up to larger small foreign bikes and then switched to UK type foreign bikes and then smaller HD's and finally to this one keeper but now I don't ride so much anymore. But it still sits out there in the barn patiently waiting on me. I neglect to put a foot down when I come to stopsigns now and the cops don't seem to be impressed that I could stop completely and start again without dragging my feet for a half mile I guess knowin how to ride a bike isn't as good as stayin safe by keepin my feet firmly planted on the ground doing 40 mph.

Well, I'll be around off and on, see how things run here. Do some lurking.

Welcome, some folks would give their left nut to find something like that in a barn! Lots of potential, enjoy the forum.
