I started riding in 2002 and my first bike was a 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan Classic cruiser. I put about 20k miles on it enjoying the likes of Sturgis (rode from Atlanta), Daytona, Myrtle, and the north GA mountains.
I just recently bought a 2002 Road King Classic and have already fallen in love with the Harley difference! I am only about 150 miles into the new bike but I can already tell this is going to be a fabulous relationship.
I travel heavily for work during the week, so my riding opportunities are limited to the weekends, but it gives me something to think about all week long while I'm away.
Being new to the Midwest, I can't think of a better way to explore the new region than on the back of my new bike!
I'm looking for any thoughts on rides out of Chicago and hope to meet some new riding partners.
Welcome. Any ride on 2 lanes is fun. Keep your eye out for deer everywhere in WI. Fall is worst for deer hits, late spring next, but you can hit them anywhere, anytime. I avoid night riding for that reason.
