I'd love to have comments or suggestions? I've owned and worked on
bikes before but never a Harley, so I'd appreciate any feedback
harley people have to give!
I'm sure I will. I'll be needing all the help I can get. This weekend I'll be getting into some mechanical issues with the new bike. It won't start...it wants to...it tries to...just won't quite turn over.
I'll be posting updates and seeking help often, I'm sure.
I hope this forum will be a helpful resource as I make progress with the new bike!
Hello and welcome davaugust. So you got yourself a newer Ironhead
Mines a 1978 I just got a few months ago. I've been preparing for a transformation ever since I rode it home. Including getting a different tank and fenders, I now have in primer.
Thus far, I've replaced the rear brakes, changed the seat several times (I recently got a Corbin I'm going to use.) Installed a chrome oil tank and new oil lines and installed a chrome headlight housing.
Everything else is there, and runs great. I have a lot to complete before Spring.
Good luck with you project, and keep us up to date.
hell stones, I can get my stuff together enought to post pics here.
Sometimes, I catch myself comming and going.
The youngest is home sick, and I had to do the unevidable this morning by putting our pets down. Rudy (Cocker, 15) and Gretchen (Min-Pin, 14).
What are you talking about...you're the pic posting master. *hands you your card* And sorry to hear about the dogs. That's always tough (unless you have dogs like mine...I'm waiting for the day cause my wife won't let me put 'em down early).
Davaugust, just wondering how much you paid for your project bike? Im thinking of starting a similar job, but f project bikes at a decent price over in the UK are hard to find ( unless you want to pay silly prices for old Brit bikes).
