Advice please
I am ready for my first purchase. I have been looking with intensity and planning for several years. I am looking for advice. I am 5'10", 210 and have been told from the beginning to go with a bigger bike. I like the Street Bob and the Road King Custom. I found a 2001 Custom (mint), 12K miles, custom paint, chrome everywhere (wheels, bars, etc). Both of these bikes are in the same price range (around 15K). Then I saw the Nightster. What a coollooking bike! For my first purchase (new rider), can I go wrong with any of these? Nightster too small? The 01 Custom is totally sweet, nothing left to do to it. Any advice on reliablility, etc. vs. new? It has been dealer serviced and garaged. I mean this bike is like new. Thanks to all that respond and I look forward to becoming a member of the HD family.
Helpful info...I do not plan on long distance travel, even though the occasional day trip may come up.
God bless,
Chris

Hello and welcome to the forum from central PA. I suggest taking the MSF course and if you have your license finding a dealer that allows demo/test rides and ride one for yourself and then make your decision an informed one.
Take an MSF course first then test ride as many bikes as possible before buying. Buying used is a good idea. You will save thousands for your bling of choice. I went with a 2006 1200C and love it. I'm 5"11" and weigh 190. Good luck on your decision and welcome aboard from Omaha, Nebraska.
WELCOME! From TUCSON AZ! I am 5-10 180lbs., and my lowrider fits me just fine. But I have been riding 35yrs.

I'm going through the Harley Davidson Riders' Edge in March. I have ridden before, but not this style of bike. Back in my younger days, I rode a crotch rocket. Not even remotely interested in that kind of riding, anymore. I really like the Nightster, I just wonder how much stock I should put into other people's opinions. Most people, including the dealer, say I'll be back in less than a year wanting a bigger bike.
