New guy from Norway
Norwegian biker, been riding since the late eighties. Started on a Suzuki and Honda mopeds (dirt bikes), got my license for big bikes in 94. Since then I have owned 7 bikes, Suzuki and Kawasaki only.
But there was something missing from my life. Yep, it was the Harley.
Turned 40 this february, and ordered my first HD from Dream Machines of Texas in Dallas. It's a 00 Fatboy with some small mods done to it. Beach bars, custom paint job, custom baffleless pipes and stage 1 tuning.
Just got the bike last sunday. Yes, it took that long. US bikes imported to Norway has to go through quite many tests. In order to satisfy the DMV the headlight has to be swapped to an e-approved one, the speedo has to get a sticker showing KM instead of miles, there is a noise-test (in which DIY baffles where made) and so on and so on...
Finally got it approved, registered and road legal. Inspected the cam chain tensioners as it has 26000 miles on the clock, they were in fine condition - maybe the previous owner has had them replaced, I don't know.
I ride 15 miles to work every day, so it is a very nice commute. On paved country roads it is a blast, Norway has very few straight roads because of the fjords and mountains, so it is perfect for bikes (apart from the cold weather that is).
