Exclamation Newbie New Purchase Help

Disclaimer: I'm new. Never owned a street bike.
I'm looking at buying an used 883 Iron. I've looked around. It'll be a toy for me.
Good:
It's a 2011 w/ 6500 miles, a screaming eagle stage 1 air intake, and Vance and Hines duals. $6500 obo
Possible bad:
It's been kept outside. I noticed today that there is some rust spots around a few bolts. For example, around the air intake cover. Should i be concerned? With a little TLC would this be a non issue?

A lot of people keep their bikes outside. If all it is, is a little bit of rust on some of the bolts, I wouldn't worry about it. As long as the leather isn't overly dried out or cracking and the bike otherwise was kept in good condition. It's cheap to replace a few screws and to clean up any minor surface rust (as long as it is only surface rust). Just my opinion.

Welcome from So. CAL, if I'm not mistaken the 883 sold NEW for around $7k, that one is 2 years old, 6500 miles (which isn't much) but with the asking price of $6500 or best offer and there is signs of rust on the bike which would tell me the owner didn't take as good of care of the bike as I would have liked.

IF that is the only one you can find in your area for sale (and it was ME doing the buying) I would offer $5500 and not a penny more and that would be only after I totally inspected the bike and made sure the rust wasn't deep and plentiful! Just my two cents
