Hi to all of those who are sharing their experience on this really helpful site!
I'm a Canadian, who really hopes that the coming cold season will bring the perfect deal to buy my very first motorcycle - after 23 years long pause - hopefully a beautiful Deluxe or Heritage.
23 years ago - was the day when I sold my last bike - before my kid was born. On that day - my wife - pregnant at that time - saw me getting a tumble at 85km/h and successfully breaking my left collar-bone.
Than my son was born, and now - ...well he's going to finish his last year in university, so , ...here I am, knowing that somewhere there is a Harley Davidson, which in less than 7-8 months will be mine.
To be honest with you - initially I was considering the Suzuki C50T (due to more affordable insurance, and lower starting price). Then - at one of the Suzuki's "Ride-our-bike" event I did a 30 minutes ride with it - and even though I know it's not enough to make an objective decision - I felt it annoyingly wobbly and ...just not what I wanted.
Then - the local Harley Davidson had their "Test-our-metal" event, and I - literally - fell in love with the Softail Deluxe.
Hopefully in the coming cold season I will get the necessary amount of luck and ....well...I'm just hoping that the bike will find me.
I'd like an 88ci Heritage or Deluxe, in ivory and turquoise, saddle bags, windshield, with decent mileage on it and for an affordable monthly installment.
Until then, I will keep "digging" this forum at work during lunch breaks, and at home when I get 10-20 minutes in between things.
Bottom line - thanks for having me, and I know for sure I will learn many valuable things on this forum.
