and now I have a 2013 Sportster 1200 Custom. Got at the end of May and now have 5500 miles on it. Compact windshield, passing lamps, mini-footboards, Mustang solo seat, Express saddlebags, Vance & Hines slip-ons, engine guard.
I also just added the rear axle covers and swingarm pivot covers in black. I think Pearl has enuff chrome already!
Too bad i will have to put her away for the winter soon......getting colder here in upstate NY. I have the soft lowers and leathers but
they will only let me ride a bit longer.
I always had Honda or Suzuki before. After riding this bike for a few months, I can say that Harleys are the Cadillac of bikes!
I am 57 and have kidney disease so I really should not be riding but, I can't stop! I love riding! Especially now that I have a REAL bike!

I really like the fat front tire. It makes the bike handle like a dream. I call it my mini-Fatboy. Being only 135 pounds, I really don't need a bigger bike. This is the biggest one I have ever had. Before I always had 700 or 750cc.
I like the Michellin Scorcher tires. They really hold the road ( I am a footpeg scraper.....love the twisties). They even hold good in the rain. The back one is almost due for replacement. Plus I have to get the 5000 mile service so there will be a huge outlay of cash before next season. When I get a book, I will maintain her myself. I was an aircraft mechanic when I worked so I am sure i can handle this bike. I am also putting back together a 1969 Chevelle SS396.
If I do upgrade, it will most likely be a Softail. Like I said, I love that fat front tire. And I love the paint scheme - Big Blue Pearl Deluxe

Here is my first street bike. A 1976 Honda 400 Supersport. Bought new when I was in the Army in NC. Those bikes are rare now due to only being made for 2 years thus making them collectable. Pic was taken in Minnesota back in about 1981. I had about 120000 miles on it before it died. Like I said, I LOVE to ride!
