I am considering buying a Fat Boy Screaming Eagle 2006. I have been away from the bike scene for about 15 years. I can"t resist my urge to ride again any longer. I am 54 and my concern is that this bike may be to rough to ride at my age. Some reviews state that Fat Boys have vibration issues. I don't plan any long trips. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Dealers will tend to mislead just to make a sale. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks
I have an '05 SE Fatboy and love it.....
The engines are rigid mounted but counterbalanced now. No vibration (or maybe a little at certain rpms)
You can use the mirrors at highway speeds--how's that.
Howdy, welcome to the forum. I am also 54 and while I didn't buy a Fat Boy, I bought a Springer. There was concern about the vibration that I would feel with the springer front end, no big deal. I guess what I am trying to say is this, I like the looks of the SE Fat Boy and if there is any vibration, after a while you won't even know that it is there. If you like the looks of it and how it handles then buy it and don't look back. My 2cts worth, enjoy the ride
Welcome to the forums from the Arizona Highlands. Let us know how your search goes. I got my first Harley at age 64 and I never regreted it. Whippersnapper
Welcome from TN. I have a SE RK, I'm 48 but if I could afford it I'd have a FB, RG, Sporty,---------- Hope you enjoy the forums, and the SE FB is sharp, the SE CVO's are the best bang for the buck IMHO.
Glad you found us...as for your dilemna...what are you waiting for? None of us are getting any younger, don't let another year go by wondering and wishing you were riding...!
