Default My First Harley

Well, I did something I though I wouldn't do until I was an old(er) man. I went and bought a cruiser, and a Harley Davidson at that. The wife and I picked out a 2014 Switchback. I have had two crotch rockets prior to this, an 05 GSXR 750 and then an 07 GSXR 600. My wife just couldn't ride on the back of the sport bikes anymore, so just before the snow fell this winter I sold the 600. I had been researching after I sold it, on what would be the best bike for me, and I eventually landed on the Switchback. My best friend had just sold his 01 Softail and bought an 09 Street Glide and told me I should look at them. I am not a big fan of the big fairings on those touring models so I looked into the Road Kings instead. To me they just have the classic Harley look. After looking into it, it seemed like a good fit on paper. I found a few used ones that I liked that were in my price range. After a trip to the nearest HD dealership, I sat on a few and it just didn't feel right. So I jumped from a few different bikes and and got a good feel for the Dyna. It seemed to fit me well. After talking to the salesman and telling him what I was looking at, he pointed me towards the Switchback. It just seemed right. So after a few months of checking craigslist and local dealerships, I found only a couple used Switchbacks, so I put them on the back burner. I had come down to Daytona with my wife to visit her father has a place he lives in for the winter just outside of Daytona Beach. My buddy wanted me to get him a Bike Week shirt so we drove to nearest HD shop, which is Bruce Rossmeyer's Daytona Harley. I was showing them the bike that I had been looking at, and after having my wife sit on it, she was saying how much she like it. One thing led to another, and I walked out with a new bike. Well, basically new. Its a 2014 with just over 600 miles on it. It was a demo bike that was a few grand cheaper than retail. It was what I was looking for, in my price range, so she said (we) could have it. I think the only thing she is excited about is that she now gets to extend her wardrobe. I'll get the bike delivered to my house in a few weeks, where I get to stare at it until spring. Here are a few pictures.

The color is Blackened Cayenne, and I also had them install a V&H Pro Pipe.
