Changing tires without the right tools can get real ugly. I read a bunch of reviews on the Mojolever and watched a couple YouTube videos and decided to give it a try. There's some technique involved, but not hard to master. Removing the wheels is more work than changing the tires. The wheel in this photo is from a Sportster, but I used it to change the tires on my Limited as well.
The lever doesn't contact the sprocket during use. I just rested it there to snap the photo.
The changing station is made from a 14" car rim lined with cheap garden hose to guard against scratching the bike rim. The base and bead breaker were made with some scrap steel I had laying around. The car rim could just as easily be bolted to a work bench.
I also picked up the Yellow Thing and lube paste from No-Mar. The Yellow thing works great, real handy for holding the tire from chasing the lever around the rim on install. The paste is nice, but you could get by with soapy water. Fun project and saved some cash to boot.
