Default Am I using the wrong size tire?

6000 mile road trip, had a hiccup and had to have front rotors replace on the ultra. As long as it's on the lift at a dealer, had the rear pads checked. Tech told me I was running the wrong size tire on the rear. Well, OEM is a MT90 which is a 130mm. For about the last 6 years I've been running a MU85 which is 140mm. Rideability is better, no clearance issues, am I wrong?

You are not wrong to upgrade to the MU with a higher load rating.

We ALWAYS upgrade MT's to MU's unless specifically asked not to by the customer...

You are not wrong at all, I agree with the others. I discussed the subject of rear tyres with Avon tyre reps a few years ago and they recommend exactly that - a 140 tyre, which comes with a higher load rating than the stock MT/130. When riding 2-up and loaded close to the max weight of our bikes they told me the MT is marginal and close to it's max load. Unfortunately the MoCo recommends an MT and any dealer will only fit that size.
