My build is based on a 1983 FXWG. It's got 8" over forks and dual flange. The previous owner told me that the forks are compatible with stock wheels. It has been converted to dual calipers. I have the stock mags but I prefer the chrome wire spokes for this project. I already got the rear wheel. I'm having trouble finding one for the front. I've found a few on Ebay, etc. but I don't know enough about the variations to be sure of compatibility.
I measured the wheel that fits what I have: It's 4-1/16" wide at the rotor mounting surfaces. The axle is 3/4". The bead-width is 2-1/4".
Frank, the original builder of this chopper came by to drop off more parts. I asked him what these chrome round things with 5 threaded holes and 5 through holes are. "Why they're spacers for the front wheel." he replied. Apparently, you're correct. the spacers are for running a Sportster wheel. They are 1-1/16 each for 2-1/8" additional width. That makes 6-3/16" total width with the spacers.
You're right multihdrdr, it is stamped exactly how you said: "19x2.15"
Frank had preciously told me that the bike was running a 21" front wheel. It appears that, either he was mistaken or I heard him wrong. This should make things a little easier. Thanks for the help.
