Default Rim help....

I have a 1995 heritage Softail classic and broke a spoke. Looking at some new complete 40 spoke rims. Any of you guys hear anything about mid USA? I can't find any reviews. If so how long have you been running them, how they holding up? And another question, I've been looking at used mag wheels, if they are the same bike just from let's say 07 or newer, would they work if they are the same size? It's a new bike to me, been in the family since new. Any and all input would be very much appreciated.
thanks, Brad

Some members use the word 'rims' when they mean 'wheels'! I take it you are referring to ready-made wheels?! I don't use wire-spoked wheels, so can't answer that query anyway.

As for cast wheels, take care! Your bike wheels use tapered roller bearings, while wheels from around 2000 use sealed ball-bearings. This matters bacause the rotors and pulley on those later wheels have larger diameter central mounting holes, so the rotors and pulley on your bike won't swap over. The later wheels also use larger diameter axles, so won't take your smaller axles.

There are ways around those problems, but it will be much simpler to use wheels from bikes up to 1999.
