Default Helicoils? On A sprocket?

I had a few of the bolts back out of my rear sprocket, 2 of them made contact with my swingarm. It ended up stripping the threads on the hub. I'm having a hard time finding a replacement wheel for the stock 13 spoke mag rear wheel that came on my 03 Dyna. Would it be a bad idea to Helicoil the holes and put it back together with new bolts?

Timeserts not helicoils, we use these on heavy load bearing parts on high speed robots all the time.

Time serts sound much more reliable. I would feel much better about using those over helicoils.
Thanks. I'll look more into using those on my wheel.

Did you get your wheel fixed?

Btw, those 13-spoke rears shouldn't be too hard to find

I noticed this thread started 3 weeks ago, and hope the OP has his problem taken care of by now. Just thought I'd post this as the alternative I went with in a similar situation.
When the pulley bolts backed out of the cast wheel on my 1985 FXRS my local indy shop was able to drill and tap the bolt holes in the hub and install next size larger bolts.
I think the factory bolts were 7/16 and he went to 1/2. Might not have those bolt sizes correct, but you get the idea. If there's not too much damage from the "wallering out" by the loose bolts that might work. Pulley had to be replaced though..those holes had too much damage. ( wallered out too much)
Hope all that technical jargon isn't losing anyone. Down here in the South we refer to a lot of things that have been subject to excessive wear, stretched out of shape, etc. as "wallered out".
Out of courtesy however...we generally refrain from using it when referring to our womenfolk except in extreme cases where it applies.

I understand " wallered out " just fine, had an ex wife with that very same problem.

Yep. This is the ticket!

I did both front and rear hubs on mine, just because I don't like aluminum threads.
The initial cost of the kit is high($90) but then all you buy is the insert itself when needed.
