Default Tire Noise?

2018 Road King, 4000 Miles. About 300 miles back started getting a humming noise from the rear wheel area, 45 to 50 mph.
Belt tension per spec, tire pressure 38 to 41. Changing pressure does not change the noise. I've cleaned the belt and rotated the rear tire by hand bearings feel smooth. Bearings don't get hot while riding. This hum sounds like the old nylon cased car tires from the 70's.

This is the stock Dunlop tire. Common for these to make noise with a few thousand miles on them? Prior Harley was a 2004 Road King with a much narrower tire that bike was always quiet.

Has the handling of your bike changed at all? I just started a thread about a similar issue, plus a loose/reluctant steering feel, with my 18 Street Glide that has about the same miles as your RK. A few people pointed out to check my tires for cupping. I did and sure as sh*t both front and rear are cupped. Im not **** about it but try to keep my pressures around stock 38/41, and always ride solo. Wonder if HD just put crap tires on our bikes in 18?

No change in handling, I checked yesterday for cupping nothing really visible at this point. Like you I also keep the PSI per the book, it's never driven on low PSI tires. My ride quality is pretty poor, it does not absorb bumps very well. Handling is OK. I haven't had stock tires for years, my prior bike was an 04 Road King and I used Michelin Commanders on it for most of those years, on that bike ride quality, handling, and low noise were great. Avon Cobras get good reviews, I may dump the Dunlops next spring.
