Looking for a 200/55/17 for my 12 Fatboy since last August. I was able to acquire one for the front. Riding season is approaching and there is NOTHING out there available. Emails to Dunlop have gone unanswered. Kinda want to give my business to another company. What other tires do Fatboy owners like?
Left another phone message and email with Dunlop. Unanswered as expected. Bought a Avon Cobra Chrome 200/55VR17 instead. Local Indy that's changing my tire said Dunlop is now saying July on AE tires.
I searched for the same AE rear tire for my 09 Night Train with no avail, hearing the same about a late June/July availability date. Looking at the AVON Cobra Chrome as well! It appears AVON is also having a $60.00 rebate if you buy 2 tires.
Yep crazy times. Haha longest I ever went on a tire. Really paid attention to the rain forecast.
Avon's rebate played into my decision. Really like the aesthetic look of them. Looking forward to a road test!! Thanks guys
I spoke with the Dunlop rep at J&P while at bikeweek and asked about the current backlog. He said priority is HD manufacturing, HD P&A then national distribution. They had 50 at the start of bike week and had 3 remaining on Wednesday….
I searched the Atlanta area before going to Daytona and found 5 AE rears that fit my bike at Frazier HD, they were charging $329 for the tire and $120 + 10 disposal and tax. I needed a tire so I went to Hellbender HD and got a D407 for $305 total installed. They have been selling all tires 30% off list and $60 for install for over 2 years! Factory rep gave me a $50 rebate for my next tire….
I went with an Avon last time I bought a rear, based in large part to reviews back at that time, and it has served me well - I really like it, and will likely replace it with another when the time comes.
