Default AE tires

Has anyone had AE tires and found a better tire. I've run them for the oas 2 changes and have been content with them but wonder if anyone found a tire equal to or better. Not looking for a Dragon type soft .

Are you looking for more mileage? I'm thinking of switching to the AE from stock and I was wondering why you want to switch. Are you need more traction, mileage, feedback? What's your riding style? I do around town and will be doing long trips this year on the Ultra.

Good mileage and traction on my Michelins.

I won't buy anything Goodyear/Dunlop. Sumitomo may run the motorcycle tires but they are still made in Goodyear factories.

AE is the best all around tire you are going to find.

Michelin commanders are fantastic.

17k miles on my first set and about 14k on my current set.

I have AEs on mine, great long mileage. However, I noticed tar snakes are more noticeable. Just bought a new Dunlop 402 tire for the worn front, I’ll see if it makes a difference.

I have not found a better tire for wet/dry traction that wears as good as the AE.

I have been fortunate to con my friends into being guinea pigs on their similarly built bikes by going with Pirelli, Michelin, etc. The Pirelli Night Dragons have fantastic wet and dry performance, but have worn out super fast!

AEs are a significant step up from the stock Dunlops on my Limited. And with the bad experience I had with 2 Michelin C3s, I’ll never again by Michelin for any vehicle. They had the mid speed vibration, and were squirely in the twisties. Much written on this. And I had C2s break loose on wet roads. Never with the AEs.

I second what TriGeezer said about Michelins. I like AE'S and Avon Cobras. I usually get more miles out of the AE'S.
