1997 Heritage springer
Does anybody know how wide a rear tire I can put on this thing. Friend gave it to me. has 4k miles on it and has been sitting for over 25 years. Already put a cam in and an S&S Super E. Don't trust the tires though. Thanks in advance.

Safe bet is 150MM
Measure your fender and belt clearances with current tire ( Stock is 130mm )
Do some math.. 20 mm is approx 7/8ths divided by 2 = .395
So at a minimum you need a fat 1/2" PER SIDE to have reasonable clearance

Do NOT forget to eyeball the electrical wires inside the fender
( Wish I had friends like that)

Thanks. Are we allowed to do math now days? Pretty sure grand kids can do it. Thanks again. And yes it is nice to have friends like that. He is into touring bikes from Europe.
