Default Cush drive

Has anyone eliminated the Cush drive with a chain drive kit on a 2008 Roadglide? This one has a 18 inch wheel and the compensator bowl was damaged due to it coming loose. Part is obsolete. Setting the bike up for stunt riding. Any help would be appreciated.

That's like asking if someone has changed Harley's typical Belt Pulley/Sprocket to chain drive ... of course they have

The 2008 uses the Bolt-on compensator bowl. The wheel is no different than Non-Cush Drive wheels.

So apparently someone moved that compensator bowl over to a 18" wheel maybe without cleaning threads, using loctite (or new bolts) and torquing properly? Hard to imagine those bolts coming loose. That's one of the benefits of that Cush Drive

Btw, you can still get those compensator bowls on ebay. I even have several.

Can’t find any on eBay. Would you be interested in selling one?

Damn, you're right ... none ... right now

I'll look at my stash ... how's the threaded holes in your hub?

The first few threads are bad in every hole. The holes in the bowl are egg shaped. When I removed rear wheel I noticed that the bolts were not Harley bolts. That’s when I found damage. The prior owner repaired by getting hardware store bolts and lots of red loctite.

My local dealer said it is obsolete and there are none in the country. There is a superseding number but he couldn’t find any information on it other than the price is 275. Could not find that part either

Call Ronnie's and ask what the lead time is. If it's in the price book as available, it's not obsolete.

There's one on ebay located in Italy. They won't ship to the USA, but you can have a purchasing service buy it and ship it. I just did that for an obsolete transmission gear that was located in Wales on ebay.

Thanks for the info but I don’t know how to hire a purchasing agent. Is it expensive?

It's easy, just create an account, then you create a purchase item with the web link. They'll get back to you with their fee and shipping from the seller to the buyer. Then after they receive it, there's of course another shipping charge to the US. In my case the seller in Wales shipped to the buyer in London. The buyer shipped to me, I was able to select how I wanted it shipped, then pay that amount.

Below was my initial charges, then there were the shipping costs to the USA. They base their fee on the item price.
