As I was putting my front wheel back on, as I was getting ready to torque it, I remembered that the axle spacer has two line on it and is to be installed with the lines outboard.
I have always done so. But I never remember to look and measure the spacer when it is out to see if there is a real reason to do so. Except for "that's the way the manual say to do it", anyone know of a reason? Something to do with ABS?
Different 25mm spacers have different set of grooves on them to mark their width. The only point to install them with the grooves outside is to have an easy look to check if the proper spacers are installed.
I looked closely at them before and the outboard has a rounded edge on it while the inboard is a sharp edge. Not sure why. The inboard edge doesn’t touch the bearing race.
