Default 2007 FLH brake disk direction

Hello,

Recently got my OEM rear wheel re-chromed as it was pealing and got new tires & brake pads at the same time. When came time to re-install on bike, thought I’d check to see if the new “directional” tire on front wheel was mounted correctly with brake disks.

Come to notice they looked backwards as per markings on the disks, so I proceeded to swap the disks sides. Wondering what the torque specs for the disk bolts were, I pulled out my service manual and with surprised, noticed on three separate pages of instructions, it specifically says to mount them backward, opposite to the stamping “left/right” on the disk?!?

This seems to be specific to the 2007 model/year only!

Would like to know any of your thoughts on this, why the 2007 FLH model has this and not the other model /years?

Em …

There was thread with a bulletin, saying they were backwards. My 2007 is. I just left it. 75k miles on it now. But they say you can flip it.

My tire was backwards too. Maybe they were looking at the rotor. But you would think the valve stem should have told them.
