have you ever cut one of those tires in half, pretty beefy. like said punching a hole where this no hole can lead to issues. usually tire sealant will leave a witness mark when it oozes out.
another issue is if you have liquid sealant it might not allow the plug to seal since the gum on the plug needs a dry surface, seen this failure on less robust auto tires.
I'd leave that one alone. The reaming tool will damage the tire worse than the nail did.
Plus the ream tool may not track through the same path as the nail.
I also see a wear mark that seems pretty close to the surface.
I'd replace the tire.
I would review BOTH tires for damage.
If picture of nail and the other picture of tire with nail are correct then it looks like only the tip of nail entered tire and it was found sideways.
Unless you had pulled it out for picture the nail does not look like it entered very deep.
It reads like there was no actual air loss too.
No ride-on goo visible either.
If it is a tubeless tire with ride-on then i would be inclined to just monitor air pressure.
It looks like a new tire will be happening soon unless picture angle is causing a misreading.
What is the age of tire?
Im going to use rubber repair glue to seal things up (no plug) and ride. Gonna try to get another 4K out of that tire since its in good shape otherwise. Ive used plugs in the past so this is with my comfort zone.

The tire is tubeless and has only been on for about 4500 miles. In the past, Ive only got about 10K out of the rear tire. From what Ive read, most dont get much more out of a 240. Front looks good. The pic is after I pulled the nail out. The way the nail head is it had to go in at an angle not to leak. Unless ride on really works that well. Dont think Ive ever worn out a rear tire before picking something up.
